Trust K9 Masters Dog Academy for all of your dog-training needs. With integrity, we treat all dogs as learners and students, not as aggressors. As an excited dog owner himself, our owner, RJ was eager to learn from his mentor Jim Caraway as an intern before buying the dog training business to begin his own professional journey. We have proven our experience as instructor in law enforcement and the fire service, RJ brings a well-rounded approach to dog training in the Fountain and Southern Colorado Springs communities. Additionally, RJ's wife Liz uses her background as a local educator to serve our clients and to give them the best opportunity to succeed. With honesty, we focus on building relationships with each new dog and client in order to achieve trusted results. Ultimately, we continue to stay educated on training protocols and teachings to deliver the best, safest results to our community and their beloved dogs.

RJ Carland - Owner & Lead Trainer, K9 Masters Dog Academy

With over a decade dedicated to public service in law enforcement, firefighting, and EMS, RJ Carland brings a unique perspective to dog training. Raised in a family rooted in small business, RJ learned the value of trust and dedication early on. His journey into mental health advocacy and PTSD treatment, alongside his experience managing a ketamine clinic, underscores his commitment to holistic healing approaches.

At K9 Masters, RJ combines his extensive training in canine behavior with a deep understanding of human psychology. Whether it's basic obedience or specialized PTSD service training, RJ's approach is built on trust, empathy, and proven methodologies. His mission is not just about training dogs but empowering owners to forge lifelong bonds with their pets based on mutual respect and understanding.
